#161 hazelnut cupcakes

from The Cookbook

These were so decadent! What makes the cupcake unique were the hazelnuts that were ground up with sugar and the addition of hazelnut oil to the batter. The cupcakes alone were very tasty and had a definite aroma of hazelnut, but the marscapone cream cheese frosting was like a giant dollop of cheesecake on top. I can't wait to try the chocolate version of Ottolenghi cupcakes next.
