back to the garden avocado club Feb 13 Written By Mary B a chez mary b original/copycatthis sandwich is based on one of my old favorite places in new orleans - back to the garden - which is unfortunately now closed. the sandwich consistents of three slices of wheat bread, all spread with a thin layer of mayo, just avocado between two of the layers, and then another layer with lettuce, tomato, onion and shredded swiss cheese. the shredded cheese is key for texture. it is very simple, but hits the spot as only a veg sandwich can. the sandwich was always served with yellow tortilla rounds, which i have also replicated. and then i would always get a side of potato salad, and scoop up it up with the chips. i was ahead of my time for carbs on carbs. when i made this sandwich, it was so filling that i actually didn’t have any of the potato salad in the same meal. but it looked nice in the photo together. sandwichchez mary b originalsrestaurant inspired Mary B
