#201 savory oat porridge with ginger-garlic crumbs

this was an ultra savory/umami dish! first you grill some green onions, then you fry up crispy garlic and ginger crumbs. the oats are cooked with some of the ginger and garlic, then topped with a sauce made of butter and soy sauce, a soft boiled egg and the onions, crumbs and chili flakes. my main complaint is that the grilled onions were too hard to eat alone, i actually took them out and chopped them up so they were easier to eat. it’s was also little deceivingly complicated with multiple pots and pans used for what would seem like an easy weeknight dish. that said, i thought it was worth it.
