#254 baked artichokes and fava beans

from the cookbook

this was a use up the freezer meal, these fava beans were in my there for a little too long. the dish was a little high in effort as fresh artichoke hearts had to be prepared and then simmered in the oven with peppercorns, garlic, bay leaf and white wine. it’s always a little anti-climatic how much heart you end up with how much is inedible. the cooked artichokes are then mixed with fava beans, a ton of peas and lemon slices. the end result was just okay. maybe part of it is that frozen fava beans and peas aren’t quite as good as the fresh ones. it also seemed like just too much peas. i wouldn’t make this one again but at least i used up that frozen stuff.
