from The Cookbook
After the success of the hazelnut cupcakes, I had to try the chocolate cupcakes on the opposing page. I have to admit I am not much of a chocolate cake person (unless it’s fudgy like the one from the same book), so this one wasn’t quite as much of a hit for me. I felt like the cake itself was really dry. The “frosting” is actually a super rich dark chocolate ganache spiked with a bit of amaretto liqueur. It looks beautiful, but I guess I’m more of an unsophisticated American who prefers gobs of buttercream.
