#133 tamara's stuffed grape leaves

from The Cookbook

I LOVE GRAPE LEAVES. I can't tell you why. The briny herby flavor of them just speaks to my soul. I've never made them before, but of course this recipe from the original cookbook gave me the confidence to try. The process is complicated, it involves soaking the leaves and boiled water, wrapping them up with filling and then delicately boiling them for an hour. About half of mine turned out picture perfect and the other half, not quite so, but 100% were delicious. I have a new appreciation for this labor of love.
