hojicha white & milk chocolate chunk cookies

i made this recipe that i saw online, but i would not recommend going with that. when i made the orginal recipe, they didn’t spread at all, they were like nyc cookies.

i remade them with the same flavors, but used claire saffitz’s cookie recipe instead. add about a T of hojicha to the dough with the dry ingredients, and use milk and white instead of whatever she calls for. oh and don’t brown the butter. that would be my recommended route.

i used a recipe that said it was claire’s, but then i realized it was not even the same recipe! use the one from her youtube video, not whatever else is online. this recipe was good enough that i am not making a third time before sharing. loved the flavor of the toasted matcha with the chocolates, vanilla and brown sugar.
