i was so excited to see purple sprouting broccoli in at new seasons when i was home in portland. i’d had my eye out for them for years. imagine my dismay when i blanched them, only to have the purple tops go away. this recipe was still good, but that was pretty disheartening. there is also a version of this in plenty that is actually twice as good too.
