turmeric tonic

this is the first recipe from this somewhat unapproachable i’ve had for a couple years. restaurant cookbooks can be tricky because everything is from scratch. that said, this beverage was fairy simple and delicious. it consists of simple syrup, lots of lemon juice, ginger and tumeric juice. i don’t have a juicer so it took me some work to juice the roots manually by grating them and then squeezing out with a nut milk bad. i love this stuff, it’s tangy and sweet, then has a spicy after note. would definitely make again. and i’d charge you L.A. prices, like $25 for one mason jar of this stuff.
