miso chocolate chip cookies

i have seen several recipes for chocolate chip cookies, and loved the idea, but the recipes themselves didn’t look like the greatest cookies. i have been back and forth between the tara o’brady recipe and the butter and brichoe one as the best recipes, so i decided to just add three heaping tablespoons of white miso to the tara o’brady one. i also always brown the butter and then add an ice cube for both of these recipes. the result was predictably delicious, no one would ever say that it tastes like miso paste, but miso adds that complexity to the dough that i am always chasing. i think i have decided that the butter and brioche one is the absolute best base recipe, but this one is a close second, and i would definitely recommend adding miso to your chocolate chip cookies.
