#116 basmati & wild rice with chickpeas, currants & herbs

from Jerusalem

This one has been on my list for a while but I was procrastinating on making it because it requires frying onions, my least favorite cooking method. Wild rice is abundant here in Minnesota and I love it especially in these rice salads when it is mixed with white rice. The flavorings here are curry powder, cumin seed, currants, dill, parsley and cilantro. No ingredients you'd have to go to a specialty store for, except maybe dried currants. Overall I enjoyed this dish but I have to say the rice salad from Plenty More beats this out.
